05 / FAQ

What to know before you begin.

What is Anotto?

It is an app for organizing your personal finances. It brings together spending, income, transfers, and receipts, with separate views for accounts, investments, debt, and money you lent.

How do I start?

Create your profile, add a bank account or card, and record your first transaction. You can upload a receipt or set up other sources when you need them.

Do I need to connect my bank?

No. Anotto does not ask for direct access to your bank. You choose which transactions to add and whether to import files or forward notices from your email.

Which sources can I use?

You can record transactions yourself, upload screenshots or receipts, import supported files, and set up guided email forwarding. Each source has its own review process.

Can I add several transactions from one document?

Yes. A screenshot or receipt may contain several possible transactions. Review each one and decide which to save.

What if a transaction already exists?

Anotto shows possible matches while you review a document. Check the amount, date, and account before creating another record.

Can I edit or dismiss a suggestion?

Yes. You can edit proposed details before recording a transaction, dismiss an observation, and correct transactions in the app.

Can I track more than spending?

Yes. You can view income, accounts, investments, debt, money owed to you, and relief funds in separate sections.

Can I send money from Anotto?

No. Anotto helps you record and review your financial information. You make payments and transfers through your bank or the service you use.

Do I have to enable AI?

No. External analysis of financial text, images, and forwarded email starts off. You can enable each permission separately and withdraw it in Settings. Some suggestions require the relevant permission.

How much does it cost?

Anotto is free for now. The free plan has limits for transactions, AI analyses, additional accounts, rules, and categories. See your current allowances under Plan and usage in the app.

Is Anotto available on mobile?

You can open the web app in your phone browser to view transactions, accounts, and documents.

Can I export my transactions?

Yes. The web app can export transactions. That export does not yet include every piece of data in your account.

Can I delete my account and control my data?

Yes. In Settings you can withdraw AI permissions and request account deletion. The privacy policy explains how records and operational copies are handled.
